In the course of years, Bento Gonçalves, a city driven to
wine-production, started developing its Industrial Complex, one
of its main characteristics: the Furniture Complex that developed
very fast and represented a real reason for the SENAI to be enlarged
in Bento Gonçalves.
The first landmark to the building starting was the donation of
a terrain made by the City Hall. Later, the City Hall would also
donate the area and premises where the Joinery Shop had been settled.
The funds for the construction of the Centro Tecnológico
do Mobiliário – SENAI were obtained from the National
Department through the business community assistance. In 1982, the
foundation stone had been launched and, in 1983, the Center was
inaugurated, having as its mission both to help the Technical and
Technological development of the region Industries and the training
of human resources that were necessary for the sector.
The beginning of a new landmark in the History of SENAI in Bento
Gonçalves had been settled. The arrival of new technicians
