Through the initiative of the Design Brazilian Program – PBD and the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry – MICT, the Núcleo de Apoio ao Design do Mobiliário - NAD was created in the premises of SENAI/CETEMO, in 1997.Their aim is to raise the companies and professionals awareness about the importance of the design to the development of their products in the Furniture Sector. In 1999, the NAD was definitely incorporated to CETEMO that hired a designer and signed some agreements with entities and institutions of increase for a stronger performance in the assistance to the companies. It counts on a file of more than 20 professionals that take turns to assist the demand.
Yearly, the NAD, in a partnership between SENAI-RS and SEBRAE, develops the CD-Rom and the Trends in Furniture Notebook that presents the base of main tendencies in furniture in a global context, mainly the rich Brazilian perception of design and furniture manufacturing.
